On June 29th, 2017, the winners of the German Brand Award were honored for the second time at a festive gala at the German Historical Museum in Berlin. More than 500 guests from the fields of business, politics, and media accepted the exclusive invitation.
Anker Kassensysteme GmbH, which was nominated for the first time this year, was able to convince the expert jury with its brand new public appearance. ANKER was able to take the title “Winner in Retail” to Bielefeld in the category “Industry Excellence in Branding”, in which the best product and corporate brands of the 34 most important industries were honored. With the German Brand Award, the German Design Council and the German Brand Institute honor successful brands, consistent brand management, and sustainable brand communication.
After the spin-off of Anker Kassensysteme GmbH from the Oracle group in 2015, the company – looking back on a more than 140-year-long history – managed to successfully revive the traditional brand ANKER. Since 1876, the name ANKER guarantees highest quality, security, and reliability at the point of sale. Besides high-quality Cash Cassettes “Made in Germany”, Anker’s portfolio contains Cash Drawers, Customer Displays, Keyboards, and modular restraint systems for POS components.
Only last year, the company redefined and revived the brand ANKER within the scope of diverse team workshops. A multimedia external communication and a young corporate design reflect the innovative spirit of the startup and, at the same time, represent the high quality standards of the products. As such, within the last months, new company brochures and the social media presence of the company were developed in addition to the new website. The ANKER team received strong support from the Bielefeld advertising agency kopfstand* for the implementation. In March, ANKER launched the design at its innovative stand at the EuroShop exhibition in Düsseldorf. A product configurator will follow shortly and complete the modern appearance of the traditional brand.
The ANKER team successfully managed to carry out the plan to maintain the soul of the traditional brand, at the same time representing a modern, innovative company – the award at this year’s German Brand Award is the best proof of this.
